Trinidad Rizo was a graduate student under the tutelage of Prof. Nemesio Sánchez at the Museo de Arqueología y Antropología (Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology) of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (National University of San Marcos) in Lima, Peru.
Rizo had been working on translating a document believed to be associated with a lost and mythical Peruvian pyramid. Her unnaturally emaciated and nearly mummified body was discovered by investigators on March 19th, 1921, in the basement storeroom of the museum.
