After serving in the Great War, Lorenzi returned home to New York where he reluctantly became entangled with the criminal underworld. Searching for an escape, he joined Caduceus in 1930 to escape the life he’d fallen into, and to forge new contacts that would help him achieve a fresh start. In 1933, he found himself in Bolivia, assisting those affected by the raging Chaco War.
