Señora Cupitina was the no-nonsense owner of the Hotel España in Lima, Peru. After her husband, Angel, died in 1918, Cupitina continued to run the hotel alone, despite her advancing years. She was known to spend great lengths sitting in her armchair in the hotel foyer, watching the world go by and chatting with guests.
