BORN 1519 • DIED 1543 & 1921
One of the original conquistadors who discovered a lost pyramid in the Andes in 1542, Luis de Mendoza had spent 370 years as an undead, hunger-driven abomination. For nearly four centuries, de Mendoza wandered the mountainside in a mindless, bestial state, but, after meeting Augustus Larkin in late 1920, he found his human intelligence reawakened.
Upon this rebirth, de Mendoza set out to unquestioningly protect his new master from physical harm, ensure that those who spoke to him do so with respect, and eagerly kill anyone who stood in the way of his master’s plan.
De Mendoza finally met his end in the bowels of the very pyramid that originally birthed his inhuman state, when Jackson Elias and his friends refitted a piece of gold banding that was originally stolen by conquistadors, thus resealing the evil within the ruins.
