BORN 1882 • DIED-
During his long tenure as a homicide detective working out of Precinct 7a in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City, Martin Poole was no stranger to vicious acts. Despite his hardened exterior, however, the murder of Jackson Elias shook him, partly because of its brutality and partly because of its similarity to a series of murders he believed had already been solved.
His years on the force made him cynical and prone to seeing the worst in people, but he remained assiduous in his investigations and pursuits of the truth.
