Ramsey had been Jackson Elias‘ lawyer for as long as Elias had been a professional writer. As well as dealing with contracts and the occasional legal entanglement, Ramsey also managed Elias’ finances and carries out administrative functions whenever his client went traveling the world in search of a story. His office was located in Harlem, on 124th Street and Lenox Avenue.
Ramsey acted as the executor of Elias’ estate and therefore handled the financial considerations involved with the Friends of Prospero. Over the years, Ramsey and Elias had become friends, and while he handled his duties as executor with professionalism, he was obviously deeply upset about his friend’s death.
