BORN 1904 • DIED 1933
Abidin Tan was a well-liked North Borneo local who worked for the British Military as a guide. He claimed to have a friend or relative in every town across the region and had a knack for tracking down hard to find items.
On April 1st, 1933, while investigating an ancient serpent person outpost, Abidin bravely sacrificed his life by allowing a black protean being to swallow him and a large explosive device whole, thus diminishing the force of the blast and saving everyone in a five-mile radius.
