Hi! My name is James Rosario…

…and I’ve been playing tabletop RPGs for over 30 years.

I started gaming in 1989 when my mom bought me the Dungeons & Dragons “Red Box” basic set for Christmas. That night, I stayed up late poring over every page and making characters in every class. I still have those books, complete with my handwritten notes from 6th grade.

Before long, my friends and I (courtesy of our local comic book/game store, Comic Junction in Moorhead, Minnesota) discovered other games, most notably Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness and Heroes Unlimited, courtesy of Palladium Games. From there, we dove into the “Palladium Megaverse,” which included games like Rifts, Ninjas & Superspies, and Palladium Fantasy.

My high school years were mostly occupied by Call of Cthulhu, a game that opened my eyes to a myriad of different systems, genres, mechanics, and play styles that existed. It was through Call of Cthulhu that I learned there was a game out there for just about any taste.

Fast forward to 2017 when I started working for the Buncombe County, North Carolina library system where I ran weekly games for kids. When COVID hit in 2020, those games moved online and 20 Eyes was born. I’m still gaming with some of those kids today.

Thank you for your interest in what I have to offer. I’m glad you’re here, and I’m looking forward to our adventure.

Welcome to 20 Eyes Gaming!

James & Screech. Moorhead, Minnesota circa 1995.

MAXIMUMDUNGEONCRAWL

For generations, the freedom enjoyed by the people of the Known Territories has been slowly and methodically eroded. In its place stands a wicked and growing system of authoritarian city-states with no concern for anything but their already overflowing coffers.

This consolidation of power has decimated forests, made fertile lands arid and inhospitable to growth, and stripped entire mountains of precious minerals and metals. It has poisoned the water supply, displaced entire communities, and pointlessly fractured long-standing alliances.

But, despite the wretched and tense existence endured by all save for the most affluent, conviction still exists — for the precipice your world stands on has two sides.

Behind you lies the continued annihilation of everything that makes life worth living, but in front of you… there, my friends, lies the future. And with the future lies the greatest commodity of all: hope.

A better, more just world is still possible, but only if you possess the bravery to confront the madness before you and strive to bring civilization back from the brink. If you want the future you deserve, you’ll have to fight hard for it because the relentless, state-sponsored boot on your neck is not going to remove itself.

MAXIMUMDUNGEONCRAWL is a grim (but hopeful) fantasy RPG steeped in authentic 90s DIY punk rock zine culture. Its fast-paced combat, unique magic & psionic mechanics, benders, and very own hardcore / crust / peace punk Appendix N will have you rightfully pissed and ready to take on all the evil bastards holding you down.

Keep your eyes peeled for free playtest sessions, or email 20 EYES GAMING AT GMAIL if you’d like to knock me off my chair and pester me until I schedule one.

Coming Soon!

Peace & Long Life
